Merle & Company
Personalized services for your dog. Merle is a gentle soul that loves having company and we want your dog to have a PAWS-itive experience staying with us! We live on a quiet street in a securely fenced house with a dog door and several options for shade and shelter in the yard. Most of the time we care for only 1 or 2 guests at a time. You can count on daily updates and photos of your best friend during their stay. We welcome puppies, and I have a special spot in my heart for the old timers too. I have experience working with deaf and vision impaired animals, and am a volunteer foster home through our local Humane Society. We can help with basic training, socialization, and good trail manners. I am open minded, LGBTQ friendly, and look forward to meeting you and having fun with your dogs!

Megan is THE absolute best! She was willing to take on our 4 month old lab, Eddie, for his first sleepover, and she did an incredible job. I was so nervous leaving him for the first time, so Megan kept me constantly updated and took adorable photos of all of their adventures. She went above and beyond and treated my puppy like her own. Megan's dog Merle is the sweetest and was very patient and playful with my pup! I highly, HIGHLY recommend her; book Megan now while you can! Thank you so much again, Megan!

Megan is a total dog whisperer! Megan is safe, kind and fun loving and makes every effort to get to know and understand each dog individually. I really appreciated scheduled time outside exercising, cuddling together, and the yummy treats she provided to help my dog adjust to a new caregiver. We will definitely use Megan again.
As always, Ivan had a fantastic time with Megan and Merle!

Our Lab was very happy and tired after her stay with Megan and Merle. Megan was great at communicating and sent us some fun pictures of Riley. One of them is my new screen saver! We've already booked another visit.
My puggle and border collie really enjoyed their holiday stay with Megan & Merle. Megan took great care before their stay to make sure my dogs would be comfortable and adjust easily to their new surroundings. I like that Megan limits the number of dogs she boards at any one time, to minimize conflict and to ensure that each dog gets a lot of attention. My puggle had a leg injury and could not walk well, but Megan was very accommodating for his needs, while giving my border collie multiple walks and opportunities to burn off energy, accompanied by her friendly pup. Megan's home has a fenced yard, so the doggies can sniff around outside in addition to walks and snuggle time. Megan also made a special effort to make them comfortable during NYE fireworks, which are usually very unsettling. I also really appreciate the frequent updates and photos from Megan; even though I couldn't be with my dogs, I felt much closer with Megan's excellent photos of their hikes, meals, and downtime. I would highly recommend Megan as a dog sitter or walker!

Excellent dog sitter! Ivan is surely loved and pampered while he’s in Megan’s care!

A typical day
If your dog is healthy and active I usually hike at Blue Mountain or Pattee Canyon on the weekends. These are 2-3 hour leash free "adventure hikes" and I usually have a small pack. On weekdays we frequent the DNRC and river trails closer to the house. We generally spend 45 minutes to an hour on morning and evening walks and will tailor every outing to the ability and stamina of your dog. Please let me know what activities your dog enjoys most, and I'll be happy to include them in our visits.
