Hello! I am a former middle school, Special Education teacher but have moved into the tech sector. I am 32 years old and have a lot experience with all sorts of animals. I grew up in rural Florida on a small family farm. I raised cows, pigs, goats, chickens, cats and dogs (and even an alligator or two...). Thus, when I moved to Oakland in 2007 I realized I needed to find a way to increase the amount of animals in my life while still being able to keep my dog-free apartment!! Plus, since leaving education, I feel a void in my heart and am looking to fill that void with pets to lavish with cuddles! I have dog-sat: puppies to senior dogs, small 3 pound sized chihuahuas to 120 pound rottweiler and an even larger French Mastiff! I have experience administering medications; orally and with needles. In addition to walking your dog twice a day, if s/he is friendly with other dogs, I commit to multiple dog park visits or hiking during our stay together! While your dog will be sad that you are away, I promise to keep them happy until you return. Why I love dog sitting: I was born and raised with animals. My first dog was Spec. He was a small terrier mix who wandered onto our property during a BBQ one evening. After that we owned two rottweiler/german sheppard mixes. When I moved away to college my parents got a pitbull mix, Rosco (who recently passed away). I have always had dogs in my life and continue to meet my friends at dog-friendly hikes for exercise! My experience administering medication: Yes, I feel comfortable administering injections and pills.
