About this sitter: Hey, my name's Gwen and I am a down-to-earth 22yr old student and animal lover. Since I was little I have been pretty good at understanding and communicating with dogs. Most of my life I had 2 dogs but they both passed away; the second, recently, and for the last months of his life I was the one who tended to him with the care a mother has with her child. This has left me with knowledge of how to properly care for dogs and an unfulfilled yearning to do so. I care about animals more than people, spend more time on a charity/petition/activist site than on any social site, and often hear I am more mature than most people my age-and older. Every one of my friends tells me their dogs love me and get more excited to see me than to see other friends :) I have dog-sat many of them, both in my house and in theirs - making them food from scratch, paying attention to their needs, and giving them love. I guess the main points are that -I am exceptionally good with dogs and animals -I genuinely care for them -and I have a flexible schedule

All of my life I have been around dogs. My grandma had a poodle and when I was 5 my parents got 2 dogs of our own. They have both now passed away. The second, a schnauzer, passed recently, and for the last months of his life I was the one who tended to him with the care a mother has with her child. I have dog-sat many of my close friends' dogs, both in my house and in theirs - making them food from scratch, paying attention to their needs, and giving them love. Many of these dogs can be seen in my pictures. The breeds of these dogs have included: dachshund, welsh corgi, lab, papillion/yorkie/chihuahua/greyhound mix, golden retriever, poodle mix, and pitbull. I once dated a guy purely to get him to take his dogs to the vet. [haha I'm not kidding]. I have a knack for communicating with dogs, and often will notice a friend's dog needs water, food, to go to the bathroom, or anything else that's wrong before my friend notices.

Information Gwen F. would like to know about your pet
Remember, these are only things to know so that I may better prepare myself to take care of your dog - No answer will make me reconsider dog sitting for you! I would like to know their size, what you typically feed them and how often, whether or not they shed, whether or not they are potty trained, any words they respond to (ex: Come, Spot, come!, Who's hungry?, Gotta go potty outside?) how aggressive they are, special needs, history of abuse, etc. I have experience with both big and small dogs.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks There is a large grassy park a couple blocks away from my house. The park has lots of open space perfect for dogs to run around in, as well as a paved path, trees and squirrels, and a duck pond farther on down. We can remain on quiet, residential streets on the way there and back. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Wherever you want - my bed is open!

Pet care experience
Hey, my name's Gwen and I am a down-to-earth 22yr old student and animal lover. For most of my life I had 2 dogs but they both passed away; the second recently, and I was the one who cared for him [as a mother does with her child] for the last months of his life. This has left me with knowledge of how to properly care for dogs and an unfulfilled yearning to do so in my dog-friendly house. I guess the main points are that -I am exceptionally good with dogs and animals -I genuinely care for them -and I live in a good neighborhood and a clean house.

Another great stay for our fur kids. I have written before about how great Gwen is. Thanks so much!

Gwen always takes great care of Stella!!! Thanks!!!

Gwen took great care of our little Gus! She didn't bat an eye at some of the extra care details and attention he required, and kept me feeling relaxed with multiple photo updates throughout my trip. When we missed our flight home she was graciously flexible re: pick-up times and gave us a re-cap of his stay and behavior before taking him home. I would definitely re-book and would highly recommend!
Very responsible sitter for the two dogs, would use her services again.
