Life long dog owner and dog lover
Pet care experience
**Dog Boarding and Care** With a lifelong passion for canines, I have nurtured a variety of dog breeds, encompassing both the robust and the petite, the healthy and those with special needs. My experience has equipped me with the skills to handle dogs with diverse temperaments and medical requirements. **Medical Expertise:** I am adept at administering medication and providing attentive care to dogs in need, ensuring their well-being is always a priority. **Personal Experience:** Growing up with dogs has endowed me with an intrinsic understanding of their needs. This lifelong companionship has honed my ability to manage dogs of all breeds with confidence and care. **Boarding Facilities:** My home is a sanctuary for dogs, featuring a spacious, securely fenced garden and the comfort of being a **ground-floor residence with no stairs**, making it ideal for dogs with mobility issues. I believe in allowing dogs the liberty to roam and relax; hence, I do not confine them to cages. They are welcome to make themselves comfortable on the furniture and enjoy the freedom of the household. **Exercise and Recreation:** Daily walks are a staple, as my proximity to expansive parks and natural areas provides the perfect setting for regular exercise and exploration. **Dietary Considerations:** To prevent any dietary distress, I recommend bringing your dog's preferred food. A sudden change in diet can be unsettling for your pet. **Exclusive Boarding:** I offer exclusive boarding services, accommodating only one dog at a time to provide undivided attention and care. Exceptions are made for dogs from the same household. **Sanitation and Comfort:** Prior to each boarding, dog beds and feeding bowls are thoroughly sanitized. While I can provide these essentials, you are encouraged to bring your dog's personal bowl and bed for their comfort, though it is not mandatory.

Gary took great care of our dog Kona for a week. He seemed very well cared for and happy, we think he had a great time. A great experience, we’ll be asking Gary to look after Kona again for sure - thank you!

Gary is a great guy and a great dog parent, Neo loved him and was evidently very happy in all the photos and videos Gary sent. He clearly knows a lot about the Doberman breed and gave me lots of advise I will apply to how I raise Neo - some thay may extend his life! Really happy with the 5* service he provided and am happy for him to be my dog boarder for all future engagements. Thanks mate! Idika

Information Gary W. would like to know about your pet
When taking on the responsibility of caring for pets, it’s crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of their needs and preferences. Here are some key points that are important to know about the pets ahead of time: Health Information: Any medical conditions, allergies, medication schedules, and dietary restrictions. Behavioral Traits: How they interact with other animals and people, any signs of anxiety or aggression, and their response to being left alone. Exercise Needs: The amount and type of exercise they require, including any limitations or favorite activities. Feeding Schedule: Specific times and portions for meals, as well as preferred treats and feeding habits. Comfort Measures: Their favorite toys, comfort objects, or activities that help them feel secure and content. Emergency Contacts: Veterinarian details, emergency pet care services, and a point of contact in case of unexpected situations. Routine: Their daily routine, including sleep patterns, bathroom habits, and any special rituals they enjoy. Gathering this information beforehand allows for a tailored care plan that ensures the pets feel at home and maintain their regular routine as much as possible. It also helps in preventing any potential issues and makes the experience enjoyable for both the pets and the caretaker.
A typical day
A typical day caring for your pets is structured to ensure they experience a blend of exercise, play, and relaxation. Here’s how I envision it: Morning: Start with a morning cuddle session to build a bond and make them feel loved. Proceed with a nutritious breakfast followed by a short walk to let them stretch their legs. Engage in a training session using positive reinforcement to sharpen their skills and manners. Midday: Offer a longer walk using the 8m lead for ample exploration while maintaining safety. Post-walk, it’s time for a rest period, allowing them to nap and recharge. Provide interactive toys and puzzles to stimulate their minds indoors. Afternoon: Participate in active playtime in the garden, closely monitored to ensure they’re safe. Introduce new games like fetch or tug-of-war to keep things exciting and fun. Allow some free play with other friendly pets if possible, promoting socialization. Evening: Wind down with a calm walk as the day ends, reinforcing a peaceful state of mind. Serve a hearty dinner and then settle in for some quiet time, perhaps with gentle petting or a massage. End the day with a bedtime routine, establishing a sense of security and comfort. Throughout the day, I ensure that your pets are given plenty of attention, affection, and opportunities to enjoy themselves. The activities are tailored to each pet’s personality and energy levels, making every day unique and fulfilling for them.
