asked a question | What to tell owner who did not fully disclose dog behavior at meet and greet, active stay? The owner of a new dog i am sitting for a week is accustomed to constant attention and will steal shoes and chew on them when it doesn't get its way. During the meet and greet she chose not to tell me this information. However- upon drop off -(after accepting the stay) she laid a laundry list of "issues" i should expect. -including barking chewing and more. I am usually so thorough with my meet and greets but the dog seemed very sweet at the time. I am considering telling the owner, "would have loved if you could have informed me of _'s habits before we agreed to the stay, thank you." But of course having a big mouth i wouldn't want to jeopardize a bad review. I live with my family and they get upset when the dogs i have become such a nuisance. Has anyone complained to the client and had anything good come of it? Thanks! |
commented question | I want to contact a sitter before I book anything. Is this possible? I want to meet the person and check the home of where the dog would stay.? Personally I do not accept meet and greets for owners who have not already made plans for specific dates. There's simply not enough time for some sitters to have 30 minute complimentary meetings if there is no plan to book in the near future. So you may get some sitters that won't meet with you. |
commented question | Does dog sitting only cover the evening and next morning care? If I stay for multiple nights and they have expectation of care during the day is this supposed to be included or should they also pay for drop in and/or walking service? An overnight stay is considered 24 hrs. Some sitters would charge a day care fee if they have to watch the dog another full day, others don't. Its up to you, but you should make it clear with the client first. |
