We have a Golden that liked to do this as well when she got excited. We bought one of those plastic dishpans the size of your kitchen sink at Walmart, and put her bowl inside that, then put a nonskid bathroom rug under it all, to protect the flooring. That seemed to help quite a bit. Of course, it could just be that she's older now and outgrew it on her own. Good luck!
