answered a question | Why am I receiving requests for times I've marked as unavailable? I've had the same problem recently with having to turn down clients on weekends that I have marked as unavailable. . I feel like it might leave a negative impression of me even though I've kept my calendar up to date. I wish Rover would require customers to select a date before they were allowed to do a search for a sitter. |
answered a question | Any tips for dogs that chew everything? I had 2 labradors that were both heavy chewers. I found that Nylabone was perfect for them. It allowed them to chew on something without destroying it in minutes. A bonus was their beautiful clean teeth. |
answered a question | How long or how many hours is "per night"? Hi, I based my rate on other sitters in my area. It ranged quite a bit, but I went on the lower end in order to attract more customers. Rover books in 24hr periods. For example, if pet parent is dropping their dog off on Tuesday at 9am, and will be picking them up on Friday at 7pm. That would be considered 3 days plus 10hrs. Rover would only bill them for 3 days, however I consider that another 1/2 day. I mention before the booking is finalized that if the pick up time is not within 2hrs of the drop off time then 1/2 day fee is applicable. So, I would adjust billing to include the 1/2 day fees. I hope you find this helpful:) Elizabeth Dean |

answered a question | How do I get owners to leave a review? Hi, I recently waited a week, then politely asked/emailed my past client if she could leave me a review. I think sometimes people have the best intentions, but get busy with every day stuff and simply forget. |
answered a question | I have paid for the background check twice and my badge still hasn't appeared? Hi, I would contact customer service. I had my badge show up on my profile after 4 business days of filling out the application. |

answered a question | What is the best durable dog toy? My dogs love Nylabone bones. They come in different flavors and last a really long time. My aggressive chewer Lab use to chew them all the time and the bonus is that it kept his teeth very clean. |
answered a question | Why isn't the last day of sitting considered? I agree that you should be compensated for the extra hours. I have a Sitter Information Form that they fill out during the Meet & Greet . Under the time slot area, it says states that Pick up time should be within 2 hours of drop off time, if not ½ day charge will be applicable. |

answered a question | picking up dogs Hi, I would either have someone watch the senior dog at home while you picked up the other dog. If you don't have someone that can do that for you then I would tell the potential customer what situation you are facing with the other special needs dog. I think/hope they might understand and offer to drop off the dog to your location. |
asked a question | How can I get a home inspection badge? Hi, I would like to get my home inspected for the dog safety badge. How do I go about scheduling the inspection? Thanks, Elizabeth Dean |
answered a question | Does anyone know of someone that can help lift dog in and out of car in DT Kirkland (Washington)? Hello, I had the same problem with my 14yr old 80lb chocolate Lab. He didn't like to be carried, so I ended up teaching him how to use a ramp to get in and out of my car. He learned in about a week and it made things easier for both of us. You can purchase the ramp online or at Petco. I followed some videos on Youtube for training techniques. Good luck:) |
