answered a question | When does the Report Card system go into effect? For info which might be helfpul to those who don't have a smartphone. I contacted Rover with the same question, asking how I'd be able to continue with them when I have an old phone which their app doesn't support (it is a smartphone, but an old one, the app works but only an old version which doesn't have the report card feature). They responded reiterating that the report cards would be mandatory, but "should you need a smartphone capable of handling the app going forward, we would be happy to send you one in the mail". So maybe an option for those that don't have a compatible phone?! To be honest it sounds too good to be true, and I didn't take them up on it as I've stopped dog walking for now, so I don't know if they'll actually honour this, but worth asking if you think you need it. |

answered a question | approximately how far is the average distance for a 30-min walk? I walk a couple of dogs regularly on neighbourhood routes, both for half an hour each (excluding time at home for cuddles etc). One of my walks is 1.2 miles, which is at a reasonably fast pace but with lots of sniffing stops, so it's not all constant walking! My other one is 0.75 miles, but we stop at a dog park for playing with her ball, so she's covering more miles than that. Why not measure how many miles you usually cover with your dog in half an hour, then you'll have a reasonable estimate based on your dog's usual pace - then you can ask your walker what route they usually take and see how the distance compares? As others have said, you could probably cover more if it was all fast walking, but for most dogs it's a balance between the exercise and the exploring / sniffing for them to have the most enjoyable walk, so it's more about the route than the pace. |
commented answer | When does the Report Card system go into effect? I'm in the same boat as others, I have an older iPhone and can't get the Rover app because it's not supported on my phone. I've only just started on Rover, and I expect this means I won't be able to continue?? It's ridiculous for Rover to limit their sitters only to people who have smartphones. |
commented answer | Is there still a way to get free business cards? Just to confirm that the promo code just worked for me, so still seems to be working :) it said when adding the code that it works once per customer. |

commented answer | New to Rover... should I do the Rover 101? I read in a separate thread that you can get the free business cards by ordering them in the store, and using promo code FREE100 (supposed to work once for each customer). It just worked for me! |
