commented answer | Hi I am intrested in becoming a dog sitter in my home is it possible to clear 500 dollars a week? Ive got an amazing yard , an acre fenced in with walking trails through the woods just beyond my property, and totally dedicated to the dogs home(but still very people friendly), I'm home all day taking them for walks and playing with them and i charge 18.00 a day. i get very few bookings thus far. |
commented question | Finding people who need sitters have you actually gotten a response to postcards and flyers? |
answered a question | How do you make your home escape-proof? One of my own dogs is a bolter so I'm pretty used to it. She knows "stay" and will not bolt(unless she sees a cat and ignore me) but i watch her if I'm going out. none of the dogs I've sat have tried to leave but i watch them closely if i go through the door. I had one that tried to dig under the fence. The first few days i watch them ever minute they are outside. I can relax a bit after a few days when they seem settled in but never trust them for more than 5 or 6 min. without a peek out the window. |
commented question | why dont i get called NEVER Ive been on http://Rover.com for about a month and have never gotten a request. anyone here ever get a request through this sight? I have had better luck with http://care.com and craigslist. Do they notify by phone or email if you have a request? if i charge a certain price, do they take a percentage? |
answered a question | Who pays for the food? They can bring food if they prefer but i have 3 dogs and they just eat each others food anyway. I supply treats. The dogs i have sat are small and usually don't eat much, so its not an issue. |
