answered a question | Why does my dog have bad dandruff? Dandruff is more or less a layman's term for sebhoreic dermatitis. It can happen in dog's for many of the same reasons it happens in humans. Most often, however, what looks like " dandruff" in dogs is often dry, flaking skin. Mild infrequent cases can be treated with increased grooming, using only gentle, hypoallergenic pup shampoos, and even massaging organic coconut oil into your pets coat prior to brushing, once or twice a week. Some breeds are more prone to this, particularly short/thinner furred dogs. You should regularly examine your pet for signs of a more serious skin condition however, and if any open sores, hotspots or redness accompanies this condition, have the pup seen by his vet. |
answered a question | does the dog owner provide the food for the sitter? Yes; typically the dog's owner provides the pets food, info on proper amount, and any specific treats the owner would normally give his or her dog. |
