commented question | "This request doesn't match your preferences, but" New Rover Feature? I came to ask about this too. I got that same message for a client I have sat for 5 or 6 times already, and I had my calendar accurately available for the date, so I can't imagine why it said it doesn't fit my preferences? I wish it told me was preferences it was referencing. |

commented answer | How many new clients try to negotiate pricing with you? And do you let them? I had one person haggle me for more and more of a discount. He wanted it because he hired me for a month of walks, so he wanted a "monthly" discount. It *kind of* made sense to me, so I compromised and gave him a small discount. Turns out he was very demanding, rude, and terrible to work with. |

asked a question | The Listed Archives Reasons are Never What I Need? I dread the part of archiving a request where I have to select one of the very limited reasons for why the sitting didn't work out. It never feels like the right reason. Such as, I had a person who wanted to drop their dog off extremely early in the morning, when I had both work and a test that day, and wouldn't have time to meet the dog ahead of time either. I figured the closest thing was that I "wasn't available" (since I didn't want to be up that early), but that also blocks you out for that day then, which I definitely did not want to be. Also, just today I had a woman contact me an hour before and ask if I could walk her dog. Well, I'm not going to go to a house I've never been to and walk a dog I've never met. By the time I even went to archive it the time she had requested was passed (I messaged her back right away though). Do you guys just select a random thing if you don't want the dates to be blocked out? And how do these archives to things like this hurt how you're listed? |
