My first client actually pays per hour, 10 per hour for four dogs and I am her back up sitter. Her regular sitter makes $100.00 per day X 5 = $500. So yes it is possible but I do feel I got blessed with a great client. I am a traveling sitter so I also do light errands if needed and stay at the clients house. I recently raised my rate for two reasons, I can't really sit multiple dog families if I am in your home but I offer less anxiety for your dog by keeping it in his/her environment and it will be exposed to less illness while your home is also more secure.

I would say sometimes its not down to the breed as it is to the particular dog itself. You can have a wonderful, sweet Chihuahua but many have little dog syndrome and can be beasties. Great Danes can try to compensate for their size by being extra gentle or try to intimidate you because with their stature. Much of any dogs stubbornness may be avoided in how we react to this behavior and by prior socialization and training per the owner.
