commented answer | How do I charge for multiple dogs in one house? I got totally "dogged" by a situation like this. I started my account and had my house sitting prices at a very low price. I had a client book 6 days of house sitting for GR and Choco Lab 6 mnth old pups. I neglected to negotiate daily walks and the clients assumed I would spend my entire day w/them |
commented question | Fishy requests from other sitters? This Also happened to me when I first started my profile. I responded to a reoccurring walking gig and she immediately told me she had found someone else. |
commented answer | Definition of "House sitting," & Rate help? Great question and great answer. I got myself into this situation, "House sitting " and I assume the client red that I would be here full-time. They're paying me $36 a night for 2 six-month old (retriever and lab) pups. Long story short, negotiate prices and meet somewhere in middle for time/money. |
commented answer | Did you notice that Rover is asking about tipping? I saw the pop-up and inadvertently exited or pressed an answer and it hasn't reappeared. I'm sure they count on that. Getting an email with a real survey link would have been preferable. The fact that Rover would even broach the subject of taking a cut of our tips is insulting and absurd. |
commented answer | How do I charge for multiple dogs in one house? They then complained to Rover customer support and the agent canceled the booking...as the client was at airport headed to Paris. So now I am dog sitting and being questioned constantly about my comings and goings while also being monitored by cameras and not covered by Rover at all... |
