| commented answer | How do you get a dog to stop barking in the car? When my dogs get excited in the car and start barking, I tap on the brakes. It gives them a little jolt and they don't like it. It surprises and quiets them, even if just for a second. As soon as they bark again, tap the brake again. Bark, tap, bark, tap. It might take several tries, but eventually your dog will learn that if they bark while the car is in motion they will get jerked. Every time they bark, tap the brakes, and they will learn very quickly. |
