answered a question | What do you do when a potential client asks for references? I provide references if the client asks. I have now dog-sat for two people who had a bad experience with a sitter. After hearing one of the stories I don't blame the person for asking. I only give out numbers I have permission to share and my clients tend to be more than happy to speak with prospective clients. If you are nervous about asking a client if you can share their info be sure to let them know you completely understand if they don't want their info shared so they don't feel pressured. |
commented answer | i have a request to board a 16 year old dog. how do i gently ask them what they want done if their dog passes while in my care? are there forms that cover this situation? Unfortunately, there are not always warning signs. I watched a dog and her passing caught everyone off guard. Regardless of age and health it is good to know what to do if tragedy strikes. I am up front with new clients about what happened and they are more than happy to provide instruction. |
