commented question | What should I do if owners lie about amount of animals I would be watching? Wow, that is insane that they would just not mention that. Everything Erica said is very valuable. I would also reach out to rover customer service, explain the situation, and ask them for their advice. |
answered a question | Do I need to let the owner inside my home for boarding? Every booking I've had in my home, I allow the owners to walk through the first floor with me and show them the backyard. I think of it as, I would not want my dog left somewhere I couldn't see, in person, what it was like, so why should I expect them too. I'm very awkward and uncomfortable having people in my home but I try to be polite and friendly. |
commented question | Asking owners to bring a crate for a Boarding service? Of the requests I've booked, no one has brought a crate but I haven't asked either. If you would prefer to have dogs crated during sleeping hours, I would put in your profile that all boarded dogs must bring their own crate. Then, when messaging, remind them of this before finalizing booking. |
commented question | What would you charge someone to stay with their dogs for 4 hours? I would say, based on your overnight prices and having 3 dogs, you could charge them $32 for the 4 hours. If they have a problem and you want the booking, then I would lower it to 28. But I wouldn't go any lower than that. Three dogs is a lot of work. |
commented question | What do you do if an owner has not picked up their dog? I would call the Rover emergency helpline. They can guide you better. |
