answered a question Do any of you charge different rates for puppies?

I charge 5 dollars more a night for boarding for puppies.

answered a question What are the inoculation requirements for the dogs?

Rover itself does not require any. However you can require as much or as little as you want.

answered a question Is it possible to take outdoor pets only?

Hi there. Most, if not all, pet owners here would not like their pets to stay outside all day, rightfully so. It is unsafe and there is no way to keep an eye on the dog all day unless you spend all day and night outside. Also with it being summer it's not safe for dogs to spend the entire day outside. If you have a means of transportation you can look into walks or check-ins, but having a dog boarding and being outside all the time is irresponsible.

Caryn what flea and tick meds do you have your dogs on?

There are lots of dog sitters that do this! I think it's a very reasonable ask. You do not want fleas in your house and the owner of the dog also would not want fleas on their dog upon returning to their house.

answered a question How to get our 18 month old Min Pin to stop whining in crate at night?

Hey! I'm don't know too much about the breed you're speaking of, but I have crate trained several dogs in the past and here's what I have done once I see they are not enjoying the crate very much.

-I lure them into the crate with food or a dog treat -Once they get in I slowly close the door, once they are done eating the treat or their dog food I immediately let them out of the crate -I do this a few times throughout the day to help them associate the crate with rewards -Then I move it a step further, I give them a treat, but leave them in the crate with the door closed for about a minute, then I let them out -I increase the increment of time left in the crate for longer and longer periods of time (by minutes). If I hear they start crying then I decrease the time in the crate the next time and see if I can build up to that time, doing what I described earlier of increasing it little by little each time

Also it might depend on his proximity to you while he's in the crate. If a pup is having a particularly hard time, even if they are in the crate and I am training them, I will sit down next to the crate so they can see me. Then, I will move farther and farther away with each time.

I know this can be very annoying and a stressful thing to deal with! Props to you and good luck!

asked a question What are some unacceptable behaviors between your rover and your own personal dogs?

Hi there!

So I have just started with rover, this week I will have my fourth rover thus far. I wanted to know what behaviors you all tolerate and do not tolerate when it comes to the rover's interactions with your own dog. For example, I have a rover currently who hasn't shown any big aggressive behaviors, but during his overnight stay, I have seen him twice bark at my dog in an intimating way. Of course I immediately intervene and put the rover in his crate, however now I am unsure if I will have him back next time. I'm wondering if these small aggressions are common or if your usual rovers that you love act nicely to your own dogs at all times. I always require a meet and greet and did not see any aggressive behaviors initially in the dog. Thanks!
