asked a question | Does anyone else have trouble picking their dog size preference? I've been trying to figure out what I'm comfortable watching, and how big of a dog would be okay. I have a fenced in yard, but my house isn't very conducive to a large dog playing with my medium sized dog. Have any of you had an issue with the presets for the dog preferences? I feel like 41-100lbs is a really big range. I would be totally fine accepting up to about 60lbs, but that's about it. Another question I have is if I mark that category as I am okay with, but decline someone who has a 95lbs dog, will that affect my score? I just want to make sure I'm comfortable, but want to give a chance to the people who have a dog 41-60lbs. Once I changed my preference to under 41lbs, I haven't gotten any requests :( |
answered a question | how much to charge for drop in visits for vacation? If you feel uncomfortable with the price being that high, you can discuss this with the client and possibly alter their rate. Just remember that each visit is 30 minutes and consider travel time. There's a reason why you set your price to be whatever in the beginning! |
answered a question | Do you require kennels/crates? I had the same hesitation. We don't have too much room in our house to dedicate a specific area for the dog to go when I need to run errands or during the night. We've asked the owners many questions to ensure that their dog will not be destructive in our home if left unattended. It's difficult because I definitely prefer crate-trained dogs, but that doesn't seem to be very common! I would just ask as many questions as possible to ensure peace of mind, and maybe purchase a large crate or baby gates to block off certain areas of your home. Good luck! |
answered a question | If I don't have a pet, I just want someone to check on my house, bring in the mail, packages etc, can I still use your service? I definitely think that is okay! You may be able to find a certified sitter with even a background check to check in on your house. As Becky said, the sitter may even lower the rate! |
