answered a question How to switch setup from in my home to in sitters home?

As long as the client and sitter agree upon where the services will be provided and what services, specifically will be provided, it isn't critical that user profiles and reservations are correct (as far as in whose home the pet will be).

If a sitter wants to add Dog Hosting (in their home) they can do so by clicking: Profile >> Dog Sitting Profile >> Services & Rates >> Add Dog Hosting to my sitter profile. They can then cancel the stay and send the booking request through that portion of their profile.

I would suggest that stays in the clients home and in the sitters home are just booked separately and the instructions/details sections updated to reflect where the stay will take place. Since each booking request includes customizable pricing, the client and sitter can decide what the difference will be between the two types of stays and update the quote accordingly. This will help to differentiate between the different types of stays and make it easy to book without worrying about what the client and sitter profile say.

answered a question Is the Rover Protection Worth the cost?

I have been using Rover for a while now and have never subscribed for the protection. After reading through what it provides for the $50.00 I felt, that for me, it wasn't worth the investment. There are a lot of things you can do to increase your search ranking without paying solely for the badge, especially when you have to renew it each year.

With the AMAZING insurance that Rover already provides for free and the availability of your own, the client's or another local vet to answer emergency questions - plus the 24/7 support already provided by Rover - there's no reason, I see, that it is necessary or worth it to invest in this protection.

*If you aren't doing this as your sole means of income, or have the disposable cash at hand, there's also no reason not to go ahead and purchase this additional layer of protection. It completes your profile by adding a badge and can help make owners feel more secure with entrusting their pets to you.

answered a question Dog Report Card Examples?

I like to leave a hand written note on my last day in a client's home (I do traveling pet care). It's not exactly a "Report Card" but it adds a great personal touch and I've had a great response from past clients. I also like to include little notes, throughout the duration of a stay, along with the photos I send (Examples: Someone's getting spoiled! "dogs name" misses you and hopes you're having a great time! Snuggle time! etc. ).

In general, I like to briefly recap the stay in my end note. This allows me to focus on the positive things that occurred and still provide feedback on anything that may not have gone as planned, without having to "rate" or "grade" a particular animal.

  • I make sure to cover any changes that were made to a schedule and why the change was made (I've had animals , especially elderly ones, who I have visited more often, at different times, etc. than planned, in order to make sure they were well taken care of. Not all owners are familiar with leaving their animal in the care of someone else and so, may not fully grasp what their animal's needs will be while they are away).

  • If the animal is prone to accidents or any other type of "negative" behavior I report on this as well, making sure to highlight how great they did with it while in my care.

  • If the animal displayed any unexpected behavior; anxiety, not eating, accidents, etc. and what was done to remedy the situation.

I then always make sure to close on a more personal note, making sure to express how much I enjoyed taking care of their pet(s) and asking that they contact me for any future needs. I also leave my business card with a short note on the back, asking for them to provide a rating and feedback on their stay, as well as asking them to like my business page on Facebook and share my information with their friends.

I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for but I sure hope it helps! :)
