asked a question | How do I subcontract to another Dog Walker on Rover in my area? Hello, I'd like to take another Dog Walking Certification course that is only held during the day from 9:00 to 5:00. The next one is being held on Sept 27 and Oct 3, just two days. A Friday and a Thursday. I have five regular weekly walks on both of those days. I'd like to continue to take care of them by sharing them with someone else who I could build a long-term reciprocal relationship with. Does anyone else here do this? Can you offer me tips on how to connect with a few people? Thanks for your help. Sarah |

asked a question | Has anyone switched from house sitting to boarding? I'm currently booked for house sitting through to April 28th. My living situation has changed and I can now offer boarding. But I want to keep my house sitting commitments. Is there a way I can update my profile today to not offer House Sitting after April 28th and be available for Boarding bookings after April 28th? How do I do this? Thank you ahead of time for any suggestions offered. At this point I'm open to anything. Best, Sarah |

answered a question | Are there Rover meet-ups to meet other sitters in your area? I've also found this FB page https://www.facebook.com/RoverDotComSitters/ (https://www.facebook.com/RoverDotComS...) which contains a link to this Closed FB group https://www.facebook.com/groups/238509563360328/ (https://www.facebook.com/groups/23850...) I've submitted a request to join this group. We'll see how this works... |

commented question | Are there Rover meet-ups to meet other sitters in your area? I had a client ask me "What do I do if you're sick or not available when my dog needs a walk?" I told her there are other sitters in our area on Rover that she can try. I would love to be able to tell her that I've met some of them and know which ones to recommend. |

answered a question | How do you handle pickup & drop-off times in your personal calendar? This problem of times is also something I've been grappling with for House Sitting. I agree with using Google Forms. It's a great tool for keeping more information about the dogs themselves. I can access it from my phone to refer to when I'm with the dogs. I don't include the arrival and departure times in the form because they change for each booking. For House Sitting bookings it would be fabulous to include the times in the booking because it helps me plan my day and make sure the Walks and Drop-Ins will be taken care of as well as the House Sitting. That said, I can get into the habit of looking at the calendar to make sure the overnight was booked... and digging around in the booking messages to look for the times then add them to my Google calendar. Rover will be a much better system when Date AND Time info is up front, easily accessible, and sync-able with our external calendars. |

asked a question | Can I or should I charge for an emergency vet visit? I'm not sure what to do. I feel like I should at least be paid the $30 that it cost me to drive to the emergency vet but I'm not sure. The payment has already gone through. I haven't said anything to them yet. What do other sitters do? |

commented answer | is it OK to extend the length of the dog walk from 30 minutes to one hour? Hi Hillary, I have a new client we're trying each other out for two walks. Two Tuesdays for one hour each. We've booked the two Tuesdays at 30 minutes each. I want to add $10 for each walk. To add the adjustment do I add $20 in the Cost Adjustments? |
commented answer | How do I change a booking from house sitting to dog walking? OK. So, judging by this answer it looks like I need to Accept the Booking first because it's not possible to do this with a Pending Request? |
asked a question | How do I change a booking from house sitting to dog walking? Hello, A potential new client and I are trying each other out for two days. She tried to book me for dog walking on two Tuesdays but she ended up booking me for a week of house sitting from Tuesday to Tuesday instead. Is there a way I can change this booking without her having to figure it out? Thank you, Sarah |
