answered a question | Do you as a sitter ask if a client has cameras in their home? Thank you all for your feedback. As a sitter, I am not going to start asking, but it just really threw me off when the sitter that came by for the first time asked and the conversation afterward was a bit odd. I just got an iffy vibe and don't think I'll be using her for my dog. She also kept rescheduling our m&g last minute, then on the new m&g time, she told me she would be there in 10 mins when it was already past the time she told me she would be here, she ended up showing up later than that. I felt it was disrespectful to my time and schedule. I know things come up, but as a sitter myself, I do everything I can to be there at the exact time I say I am going to be there, if not a couple of minutes early. |

asked a question | Do you as a sitter ask if a client has cameras in their home? I am a Rover sitter but also use Rover for my dog. I am trying to find a new sitter for my dog since my current sitter no longer does drop-ins. During an in-home meet and greet, the sitter inquired if she should be aware of any cameras in my home and mentioned one of her clients in an upscale neighborhood requires her to wave to the hidden camera each time she arrives. I couldn't tell if she was for real. I was kind of caught off guard. I've had 2 sitters for my dog over the last year and none have asked that question... I guess there is always a first. As a sitter myself, I have never asked my clients this question. Yes, I find it creepy that there may be hidden cameras while i'm performing a drop-in, but I conduct myself professionally and wouldn't change how I execute my drop-in. My clients have never pointed out that they have cameras and I have never asked and I do not look around the house for them either. Should I be concerned if the sitter I just did a m&g with asked this question? BTW, I do not have any cameras in my apartment. Am I overreacting? Thanks. |

answered a question | Anyone else think Rover should count Easter as a holiday? I agree! I wonder, if there is a way that Rover could create a calendar that when we select a particular day or say a holiday weekend, we can specify rates for those particular dates in advance that way our clients know when booking what the rate is for that date/holiday...Just a thought. |
answered a question | Does the pet owner get notified to leave a review? Unfortunately, I am in the same situation. My repeat client of 3 visits started out as a super last minute, can you check on my dog today because I just had to catch an early flight type of situation. I didn't have time to do a meet and greet and wanted to help them out. We did a meet a greet a couple of days later and he's now a repeat. I would have thought my first client and a super last minute request would have made an effort to leave me a review. Another (my next client) contacted me at 11pm on a Saturday asking if I could check on their girl at 7/8am Sunday morning. Again, no meet and greet, they got stuck out of town. So, I did a favor and was happy to do so. No review from them either. Both clients I asked kindly at the end of the stay, how was your "pups name" when you arrived home? Was he/she happy about our visit? You may receive an email from Rover asking to leave a review, I would really appreciate your feedback....still nothing. I guess i'm a little disappointed. :/ I hope you get some reviews! |
