Hi fellow sitters!

I am just wondering how all of you decide upon what rates to charge, and how some of you who live in high-cost-of-living cities like San Francisco can afford to charge such low rates? I typically keep mine higher, and still get a good amount of bookings, though I'm sure I would get more if I was in a more competitive range. The way I see it though, anything less than what I am currently charging is not really a living wage here in San Francisco, especially when you consider that Rover fees also come out of what we are making.

I know that Rover suggests lowering your fees in order to attract more potential customers, but I think the standard going rate has gotten way too low now.

I'm curious what others have to say about this, and I would like to suggest that we all unanimously raise our rates to at least $75-100 per night for sitting and doggy day care, and more for puppies and special-needs dogs. I know we all love spending time with dogs here, but we still need to be fairly compensated for our time and energy!
