answered a question New Client, Semi Last Minute Sit, "Will Pay When I Get My Paycheck"?

I know this is a bit old by now, but I'll drop this here anyway. I've had a couple of these instances, one of them being quite terrifying. One lady not only asked to contact me through email instead of Rover, which was the first red flag, but she then in that email asked to pay me with a US money order, which is very much against Rover's rules, among a few other small oddities. I was in a similar boat as you in wanting to please her, until I suddenly got a super bad feeling about it and was struggling to come up with a viable excuse as not to do it. Her account was soon flagged for suspicious activity and I was told not to contact her again, which I didn't. I did a bit more digging after that and it turns out that this person was definitely not who she says she was and was potentially dangerous. Always. Listen. To. Your. Gut. Come up with any excuse under the sun if you feel this might go south, especially if they come with an odd "last minute" request. No amount of money is worth risking your well being over.

answered a question Have you guys had anybody set you up when their is a meet and greet and they don't show up and doesn't respond?

I've only been doing this for less than 2 years, and though I haven't had a no-show yet, I did have someone say they wanted some walks done, then never contacted me back until the times for the walks were nearly there, when I said I'd do the walks anyway and she could pay me back later(mistake, btw, but I have anxiety and I wasn't thinking)... Oh, THEN she was all up in my business saying "sorry for not responding sooner" and the like. Sure lady, you completely ignore me and waste my time until the very last second when I'm about to possibly do this job for free, then you are suddenly a considerate person... Thanks, but no thanks. A little late to the draw there.

I've only had one person not show up to a meet and greet, but it was totally understandable seeing as she was in ICU with her brother after an awful accident where, unfortunately, he didn't make it. Understandably, she cancelled her plans. But no, I've never had that happen yet.

answered a question Trying to feed a dog that I'm sitting, but he won't eat, how can I get him to?

I totally forgot I'd asked a question here! I've never done it before. But anyway, I ended up solving the problem on my own. I could tell by the dog's body language that the not eating was purely because he missed his family too much to do so. But luckily for me, his family had some meatballs in the fridge that they specifically told me to give to him everyday before they left, so I thought "Hey, I haven't given him his meatballs today!" so I broke them into pieces and buried them in his food, and so he ate all of it trying to get at them, so, problem solved! He seems to be a bit more comfortable today, so let's see if he eats without a fuss today.

At first, I thought it was medical, because he's an elderly dog with itching problems and an ear infection, but after closely monitoring him for a while, I determined it was all emotional. But yeah, he seems better today, so that's good. He actually slept at the foot of the bed last night, something he hadn't done the night before, so that's a good sign that he's getting more comfortable being around me.

asked a question Trying to feed a dog that I'm sitting, but he won't eat, how can I get him to?

On my second day sitting this senior dog, and he only ate half of his food yesterday, but he won't eat at all today. Hour and a half after he usually eats, and he won't even come when I call him. Anybody else have this problem? Any ideas on how I can get him to eat?
