answered a question Can you just be a dog walker on Rover?

You sure can! Just only select "walking" as the services you'd like to offer.

Plenty of people only walk, or only do drop-ins (dropins are when you visit to feed cats or that kind of thing for 30 minutes)

answered a question Can my dog be allergic to some cats but not all cats?

Yes! Just like with people, dogs can be allergic to some cats more than others. Some dogs are allergic to cat saliva, some it's their fur, and some it's dander. It can vary from cat to cat. Indoor cats tend to be cleaner, but their fur tends to be more "around" places where they spend the most time...inside! Outdoor cats tend to carry in pollen and whatever else from the outside.

An allergy test from your vet will be the best way to determine what the cause is, and get the dog on medication to help.

answered a question What is the service fee for? Rover already takes a percentage of the sitter's fee. Isn't that charge enough?

answered a question I've decided not to use a sitter solely based on their work schedule, they were very nice. I keep track of potential sitters by pressing the heart button. How do I undo that?

Just go back to their profile or in your dashboard - click the heart again and it should "unheart" them.

answered a question walking multiple owners dogs at same time?

This is great if both owners are ok with it! but be careful - it should never be attempted if both owners aren't totally happy with the arrangement - you could get yourself in hot water if those dogs get into a scuffle and someone has vet bills.

answered a question how much should I charge a client for multiple dogs and walks that go over 30 min?

Depends on so many factors and walking prices in your area.

I charge $20 for a 30 minute walk and $35 for an hour +$5 for each additional dog

so two dogs and 45 minutes I would charge $30 perhaps. That said, it depends on your area. For repeat clients and easy dogs I tend to make discounts.

answered a question is there something like rover in Paris, France?

Unfortunately, I do not know of any services like Rover in Europe/France - maybe one day!

answered a question How old do you have to be to be a pet sitter?

18 years old/a legal adult

answered a question I want to board cats only. How do I set up my profile so only cat boarding shows up?

While there is generally no "cats only" setting - you can indicate on your profile tagline "LENKA'S HOME FOR CAT GUESTS" (for example) so only cat owners message you and set your weight limit to small.

It's not perfect unfortunately, you might still get requests from dog owners. I would off set this by advertising your rover page yourself to cat owners

answered a question Is it correct that you offer trainings for dog walkers/sitters?

Rover does offer educational opportunities (you can find those in sitter resources https://www.rover.com/blog/sitter-resources/ (https://www.rover.com/blog/sitter-res...)) but they aren't traditional classes - As an independent business owner, learning about handling special needs and how to give medication etc.. are great assets. I would recommend searching online for resources, and with owners - be upfront about being inexperienced about special needs but willing to learn. Many owners are happy to teach you how to give medication and care for their pets during the meet & greet before anything is booked.

answered a question How do I add a cat to my profile?

Just choose "Cat", it will be in the lists of dog breeds! Pretty weird.

answered a question How do you handle pickup & drop-off times in your personal calendar?

I send each client (before a meet & greet) a google form. These are so handy for asking all the stuff I want to know (emergency contact, vet they use, any medications, feeding schedule etc...) and include my standard times for pickup drop-off and asks when they are expecting to arrive. It's not a perfect system, but it's easier than managing a different calendar and at least keeps all the info about each dog in one place.

https://www.google.com/forms/about/ You can simply send the owners a link with whatever questions you need to know, they simply fill it out and submit and it's emailed to you! Having standard "pickup/dropff is from X AM-XPM" also seems to work for people, with a sign on the door that indicates to call you and not ring the bell/knock

asked a question Recommendations for dog collars?

My dog loves to swim, and his collars get so disgusting - can anyone recommend a good collar for a dog that loves to swim?
