Especially since Rover takes a hefty 20%.

commented question Will Rover ever add a tipping option?

For real though

asked a question I have a regular client that is constantly changing the agreed upon drop-in times. How should I address this with her?

I go check on the dog basically 2 times a day all week. Lately she will take an unexpected day off from work and then want to move those 2 drop in visits to another day. Or she'll come home early and want the second drop in time moved to another day. I have a pretty open schedule so at first it was okay but then she asked for me to do a last minute overnight and wanted the payment for the 3 drop in visits for that day (which weren't even supposed to be for that day) to be credited to the payment for the overnight visit. My drop ins are only $10 and my overnight is $40 so she just wanted to pay an extra $10 for me to stay the night. The rover cancellation policy makes no sense to me and I really don't want to be like, "These are the rules" but for real this is driving me nuts. Should I just tell her I can't switch our schedule around anymore?

Sidebar: I feel like $40 is really cheap for overnights because people assume that "house sitting" is 24/7 but I don't really feel like it should be. I think it should be like a 12 hour thing and they would have to pay for additional drop in visits during the day because sometimes they'll want me to stay almost the entire next day and they didn't even have to pay for that day. They'll say they'll be home at 9PM so I'll have to keep coming to check in on the dog for pretty much the entire day. I'm just curious what you guys charge or your thoughts on this.
