I am new to Rover so I have decided not to take in dogs from more than one client at a time. That way I don't need to make a big deal out of checking potential clients vet records. I can see if they have rabies tags during the meet and greet and my own dogs are up to date on all their vaccinations.
I plan to expand to take in dogs from multiple clients concurrently at some point in the future (when I feel I'm ready). At that point I will ask my clients to sign a vet release when I do their meet and greet.

The only people have ever made a big deal about paying me directly during our meet and greet instead of using the website have decided to not book with me. It makes me wonder if they had hoped to skip out on payment. As a sitter, booking through rover gives me piece of mind about collecting my fee without any hassles - not to mention the insurance coverage. I feel that the 15% Rover keeps is definately worth the marketing and services they provide and would not want to try to get out of giving them their share.
