I prefer the base rate + a discounted rate for each additional dog setup.

I've seen many new Rover clients are packing multiple dogs (up to six, I've seen!) into their profiles under one dog. To be fair, if you're looking at the dogs for a sitter and they haven't set up a special "additional dog" rate, that can look high.

But taking care of six dogs is more work than one. I won't do it at the same rate as one. Not to mention older dogs with special needs. I discuss with the client, and if I get a good feeling about them, and a good understanding of the needs of the dogs, then I'll adjust accordingly. If they immediately throw a fit about cost -- which some have -- I politely say I'm not available that weekend and move on.
