answered a question | What is the best way to tell a pet owner that you don't feel their pet is a good fit for you and you don't want to book the stay? Be honest and say that you don't feel 100% comfortable with the dog and for that reason alone you have to regretfully decline. You can complement the dog and tell the owner that due to the nature of the job and being alone with the dog, when it comes to these kinds of situations you have to stick to your gut feeling, it's nothing personal. Most people can respect that. If they can't, then even more reason not to book. |
commented question | What are some (ideal) Meet & Greet questions? I always ask where the cleaning supplies are, because when dogs are anxious, sometimes they have accidents that they don't usually have otherwise -- and I want to be able to tend to it right away in that case! |
answered a question | Can flat faced dogs swim? Absolutely they can! I had a Boston Terrier for 4 years and he never swam until one day.... we were at a pond and left him on the shore to wait as we went out about one hundred yards in a canoe. He couldn't STAND being left out, and sure enough, he got in and figured out how to paddle all the way to us! After that, he swam whenever he had the chance because he discovered that he enjoyed it. So cute! He just lifts his head a little higher than other dogs to keep the water out of his snout. |
commented answer | Can I dog sit at dog home instead of my home? Yes, absolutely contact the Rover -- they have always been very courteous and helpful each time I've contacted them to solves a problem for me :] What you are wanting to do is totally possible, I too do not offer hosting, I only offer traveling services & I have no problems. |
