Almost all of the sitters I contacted asked for more money - either for gas, or for the during the day care of my dogs on top of the overnight charges. One asked even for $831 total even though her overnight rate was $24 for overnight and $3 for a second dog. Seriously?!

Thank you. I just talked customer support and they told me that a sitter can adjust their prices to whatever they want, and I should just ignore the ones that are trying to charge more. However, I find this wrong because if that's the case - what is the point of having prices listed if they can ignore them.

The Book it Now price on http://Rover.com showed me: Sitter's rate: $25 Standard Rate x 6 nights x 2 dogs Total: $300 But you imagine my surprise when she came back at me asking for $300 more! This is the message I received from her, "I was thinking about the price and I usually charge $50 a night when I leave during the day so I would actually need to charge $50 for the day too since I'll be staying. Let me know if that's ok. $600 total." Didn't seem right!

When you book a sitter for 6 overnights at the owner's home what does that mean? Does that cover six 24 hour periods and what is included in that? Can the sitter charge you $300 more for caring for the dog during the day (totaling $600)?
