commented answer | How does a sitter ask for reimbursement for damages that were done to their home by a dog staying with them? I currently have a dog that is peed 20 times in 24 hours. My floors are a mess and I’m walkinf him more than the owners advised. An accident is expected but this is different. He even peed on me. I will need to have a co go with the owners about paying for cleaning and i think that is right. |
commented answer | How does a sitter ask for reimbursement for damages that were done to their home by a dog staying with them? I have had numerous instances where after talking to the owner a few different ways i find out they actually did know their dog behaved liked this and i think it’s awful that rover will ONLY help the dog owners. There should be some sort of support event to have the owners pay. |

answered a question | Needs to be an adjustment in pay for boarding pets in home over-night? I inform my clients that my rate includes the evening and morning walk associated with that night. If I am to take the walk for more walks then I charge them for the walk. This is what I was told to do when it was Dogvacay. From the response from Hillary H. that is new info. If Rover boarding rates are 24 hours and include 3-4 walks then I need to increase my rates.... |
answered a question | How to charge for problems after booking (extra cleaning)? I have had the same problem. I had an owner who clearly didn't know the anxiety level of her pup. I messaged her all the time and told her aaaaalllll the times that the dog peed in my apt, including when he decided to pee on my bed. This was a med/small dog so the pee was significant but while she apologized, she didn't offer for a cleaning nor even a tip. I feel that there is a lot of accountability on the sitters but not the owners as far as I can tell. :( . I do expect that accidents will happen, but this was not a puppy, and ANY time I left the apt he peed even with multiple walks a day. |
