answered a question Why does my dog lick the air?

Dogs will lick the air if they are anxious or not feeling well. They tend to lick the air to cope with the stress or pain due to illness.

answered a question What do I do if my dog has red eyes?

Definitely consult a vet. There are many reasons your dogs eyes could have become red and many simple treatments if caught early enough.

answered a question Why is my dog dry heaving?

Dry heaving is actually a very serious condition and should be treated by a vet immediately. dry heaving is usually an indication that your dog is trying to vomit but nothing is coming out. It is often fatal if not addressed in time.

answered a question Why is my dog so tired?

This could be a result of numerous things. Age, obesity, malnourishment, infections, depression, disease (heart, lung, thyroid, etc), pretty much anything hat a human can have, so could a dog. Seek medical advice from your vet if your dog has a change in behavior.

answered a question Why does my dog eat rocks?

Chewing rocks is one way for a disgruntled dog to get attention. If your dog has no diagnosed medical conditions, it could be out of boredom, anxiety, or fear. Another reason for this is your dog could have a medical problem. These can include intestinal tract disorders, nutritional deficiency, diabetes, or other illnesses. Seek medical attention first, then once that is ruled out, seek behavioral advice.

answered a question Why does my dog bite her paws?

There are a few reasons a dog will bite/lick/or chew on their paws. The most common reasons are: dry skin, anxiety/depression, pain, and parasites. Dry skin usually occurs in the winter months, or if you live in an exceptionally dry state without much humidity. Much like humans (nail biting) dogs will resort to biting/licking/chewing their nails or paws if they are nervous. If they seem healthy otherwise and this is a new thing, check to make sure there is nothing (suck as a Thorn or rock) stuck in their paw. This is a completely normal behavior, but if it is becoming more excessive, seek medical attention.

answered a question What do I do if my dog ran away?

Oh no, that is terrible that your dog got loose. Here are a few successful things I have done in the past: 1. put his/her bed and food outside (preferably close by a door they would normally go in & out of). The smell of familiar items will help him/her find his way back. You can also include other items from inside the home.
2. Call all nearest animal shelter to let them know your pup is missing. Send them a picture! 3. Call your neighbors and let them know your dog is missing & ask them to keep an eye out 4. Call/email all the veterinary offices within a 15 miles radius to ask them if anyone has come in with your dog. 5. Post on Facebook & make sure the post is set to public so that your friends and family can share it 6. Make signs to post around your neighborhood 7. Continually check with all of the above mentioned places!
