asked a question Do I get extra money for dog walking referral code?

Rover just started offering the new dog walking app in San Francisco. Today I received a package with T-shirt, dog bandana, fanny pack and a bunch of free-walk code cards.

If someone uses my code to book a free walk, do I get something for it? Also, do I get extra money if I'm wearing Rover's t-shirt and the dog, the bandana?

asked a question How do I open multiple bookings for the same dog?

I have a client who wants me to walk her dog on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 30 min and on Wednesdays and Fridays for 1 hour.

I know that I cant set different numbers of walks in the same request (for ex. Tue/Thu 1 walk per day and Wed/Fri 2 walks per day = 1hour), so I opened the request for Tue/Thu and now I need to open another request for Wed/Fri. How do I do that?

(Or should I set 1 walk per day and then manually adjust the price?)

answered a question Do poodles shed?

Like any other animal with hair or fur, Poodles do shed.

What happens is that they have curly coat, which retains the fur they shed from falling. That being said, you might not notice much of their fur on the floor, couch or bed. But, once you wash or brush your Poodle, all this fur will detangle and go out.

Some owners even notice that their Poodle loses more hair than their other dogs and might get scared, but he probably isn't. It might be only all this extra fur that you can see falling from other dogs daily and from Poodles only when they're washed or brushed.

answered a question What's the best baby shampoo for dogs?

Dogs shouldn't use the same shampoos as humans do. Their hair is different and so is their skin. So the best option is always to use shampoos made specifically for dogs - better yet, for their own breed or fur type. However, Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo is so soft and free of harmful chemicals that it can be used in dogs - even in puppies.

Attention: if your dog has any skin problem or if he has any kind of allergy, it's important to check these information with his veterinary first. (:

answered a question How often should I wash my dog?

Dogs are not like human beings. That being said, they shouldn't be washed as regularly as us.

People who own small dogs with long hair, usually wash their dogs in a weekly basis. That is because of the smell that can accumulate in their coat. But that is far from being a rule. If your dog doesn't need baths this often, you can surely wait a few weeks (or even months) to bathe him.

Of course, the owner should brush and inspect the dog in a regular basis - and the bathe time can be used for this, too.

answered a question Why does my dog keep barking at night?

There may be several reasons for why your dog keeps barking at night.

  1. If the dog is only allowed to go out during the night, he might get super hectic when released from the leash, since he has a lot of energy to waste.

  2. Barking can be a signal for suffering. Maybe the dog is cold (remember: they don't feel temperature the same way as we do) or has some illness that is painful during the nighttime (like arthritis).

  3. If you feed your dog only in the morning and the weather is humid, his food can get fermented, and the dog won't eat it. He might, then, be barking out of hunger.

  4. Maybe he only has bad habits. If you go and speak to him when he is barking, the dog may think that this is a way to have you around.

  5. There are dogs who bark during day and night. But when the night falls, it's more silent out there, so you may notice it more frequently or loudly. Dogs who won't stop barking usually suffer from separation anxiety, which should be treated.
