answered a question | Why does my dog nibble on me? Nibbling implies it is gentle and easy? sometimes dogs just like to play with their mouths on each other and us mainly because they don't use their paws like hands often. its their mouth first. if it isnt hard and only during play there isnt a problem, if you cant it stopped just tell them no and eventually with training it will stop. when he doesn't bite give him a treat and praise. Also dogs "flea" eachother with their front teeth usually when they themselves are itchy. My dogs do this to each others' ears and legs and themselves all over. They use their front teeth as a comb basically and bite knots, toenails, fleas, and any other annoyance. they do it to humans because they love us like their pack and they would do that to the other dogs, also correctable with a no. |
answered a question | Charging for walking multiple dogs? I would charge per walk{trip}, and then add in dogs. so if one of the dogs won't walk with the other two for one trip, and needed another individual walk, i would charge for the next trip. 12 dollars so you at least make money for the multible hours instead of one where it would only take 1 hour instead of 2. does that make sense? like a flat rate per hour walk because you are using your time to do that extra hour walk or two if all three need to be individually taken out. which would be good for training services to be offered. |
answered a question | Why does my dog shake in his sleep? Much like humans, dogs experience night mares, dreams of play, and all of the in-between. my dogs sometimes barks in his sleep -_-. but usually it is best to not touch them because touching can cause a lot of anxiety when unconscious. i usually , in nightmare situations, will call my dogs name a few times and it wakes him. I would then call him to me to soothe; however, make sure he is actually in conscious reality, not still asleep. Some dogs have similar sleep patterns as their owners and other humans in general. |
answered a question | Why does my dog have eye boogers? The dogs' eye cleans itself by flushing the dust and other foreign particals out the eye duct with tears, which ten dry into the gross boogers we see in the morning. I usually clean it off with a peice of toilet paper because all my dogs stand around me every single morning with my 2 yr old to watch me "wake up in the morning" haha. if you see any different colors in the discharge i would talk to a vet about flushing the eye with drops of saline or even breast milk if the dog is pregnant. I must mention this is temporary fix until you can GET TO THE OFFICE TO BE SEEN ! cleaning their eyes regularly is healthy and should necessarily be "stopped" but with cleaning their eyes weekly with saline, you reduce the nastier option of big boogies daily because they could flush the weeks tears that didnt get out when you cleaned it with a papertowel. |
