unclear dog behavior, any suggestions?
One of my friends had to leave for a family emergency and left their pet dog with us and he's been with us for the past 1 week. he is a Shih Tzu pup, 6 months. I play with him and he is comfortable playing with me as well. But my wife is the one who usually feeds him and walks him and I walk him once a day before sleep or when my wife is late in the morning. Now, whenever my wife leaves home, he comes to me and continuously barks until I raise from my chair and start play with him or engage with him if I stop playing with him or go back to my chair, he again starts barking, growling (gentle).
what is he trying to say and why he reacts like this? appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
Puppies have lots of energy to burn. They usually want someone or something to amuse them till they poop out or you do first. They nap & eat and repeat behavior. This is the age basic training should start. No barking, sit, stay, down, come and the most important command>>NO !
