What happens if a client does not accept your booking request?

I had a meet and greet with a potential client today; however, they are not for sure if they will be booking with me or with their usual sitter who's prices have gone up. The potential client is going to talk it over with their family tonight and let me know tomorrow. I told them I would send them a pricing estimate through a booking request. Will my profile be downgraded if I send the booking request and they end up not selecting me to care for their fur baby?

My understanding is that this will not negatively affect your profile in any way. The more requests you get and the more you book, the better your profile is ranked in search results and such, but denied bookings and such have no effect, positive or negative. I once asked Rover support a similar question, and this was their response: "Declining a request does not affect your search rankings. The two things in regards to requests and booking that affect this results are number of requests, and the rate at which you accept bookings. Consequently, each time you receive a request and it isn't booked, it has a null effect on your ranking, because you receive a boost for the request, and no boost for booking the stay."

From my experience, your profile wouldn't be downgraded if they did not accept it within the time period (72 hours?). You extended your service to them, and it was their choice. I say wait a day, then shoot them a message like "It was lovely meeting you & (dog's name), and look forward to working with you guys! I do have other potential clients wanting to book, but wanted to give you guys priority. If you would like to move forward with the booking, please let me know at your earliest convenience so that we can set things up."
