How to arrange a meet and greet before with sitter/boarder before booking?

Hi:

Before booking a boarder or sitters services through http://Rover.com we'd like to arrange a short meet and greet to see if our dog would be a good fit with the boarder and their home. How can we arrange for this? We don't have any specific dates or plans but would like to know the availability of a boarder/sitter nearby for future reference. Thanks in advance. Joe Lucia

Hi Joe,

There's no way to just request a Meet & Greet. You will need to select a date and input all the booking info. However, once the sitter responds, just tell him/her that all you want is to find a sitter for the near future and they should understand. Unfortunately, not converting a request into a booking does hurt our standings on Rover and affects search results. However, it is the smart thing to do. Reach out to several sitters and find one or more that best meets your needs, so you don't have to scurry around at the last minute.

Don't worry about getting billed. The booking needs confirmation on both sides. You won't be automatically charged if, for example, the sitter doesn't read your message that you only want to meet them and clicks to book it. You have the final say-so.

Good luck!

It is always best to schedule a meet & greet with, at least 2 hosts. I do recommend First knowing what services you want, such as overnights, doggy daycare, walks, baths, does your pup sleep with you at night, is your pup allowed on the furniture at home, any special medication (pills, creams, injections, etc.) and Read each hosts profiles completely. Rover hosts are independent contractors, have our own processes, procedures experiences, etc. It is Always best to schedule 1 doggy daycare or overnight. Do schedule either a doggy daycare or an overnight so you, your pup and the host feels comfortable with any future stays. It is Always best to have a backup sitter when your main sitter isn't available. Ask at the meet & greet, should your dates not be available at times, do they have someone they would recommend.
