Campaign: The donation campaign and contest described below (“Campaign”) is operated and promoted by A Place for Rover, Inc. at 711 Capitol Way S., Suite 204, Olympia, WA 98501 (“Rover”) and RSPCA, Wilberforce Way, Southwater, Horsham RH13 9RS (“RSPCA”, together with Rover, the “Promoters”)
Eligibility: The Campaign is open only to legal residents of the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) who are over the age of 18. Directors, officers and employees of the Promoters and any of their respective affiliate companies, subsidiaries, agents, professional advisors, development and promotional partners, and advertising and promotional agencies, and immediate families of each, are not eligible to enter.
Campaign Period: The Campaign period will begin at 00:01am GMT on 1st of December 2020 and end at 11:59pm GMT on 6th of December 2020 (“Campaign Period“). Entries received after this time will not be valid.
How to Enter the Prize Draw: To enter, you must first be logged in as a registered user of Facebook with a public profile. (If you are not a registered Facebook user, you can register for free at www.facebook.com.) While you are logged in to your Facebook user account, do the following during the Campaign Period: comment on the competition post with a picture showcasing your love for your rescue pet.
How to Donate to the Campaign: Rover will donate £1 to RSPCA England & Wales for each qualifying Facebook post up to a maximum of £1,000 from all qualifying posts.
Qualifying Posts and Limitations: Qualifying posts must contain a photo showcasing your love for your rescue pet and must abide by these Official Rules and Facebook’s terms of service. Participation is limited to one qualifying post per social media account and one social media account per person. Participants cannot claim any amount or cost related to the Campaign as a tax deduction.
The Promoters will not accept:
(a) responsibility for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
(b) proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the Campaign.
Campaign Image Guidelines. Images should depict animals that are as happy, healthy and safe as can be. Before entering your image, take a look at our guidelines. In the image, your pet should be:
- Relaxed
- Displaying natural behaviour
- Happy when interacting with people and other animals
- Looking healthy (eyes, nose, coat condition, weight, etc)
- In a safe and suitable environment
- Please don’t dress your pet up – unless the clothing is for their benefit e.g. to keep them warm.
Rover will seek approval of shared images with the RSPCA to ensure compliance with these image guidelines.
By participating, you are agreeing to be bound by these Official Rules.
Prize Draw Rules: On or about 7th December 2020, the winner will be the first name chosen from a random draw of valid entries by the Promoters. There will be no runners-up or runner-up prizes. The selected potential prize winner will be notified through the platform in which they entered the contest on or about 7th December 2020. The prize winner will be notified of their win as soon as practicable after verification and awarded a prize, as set forth below. If the potential prize winner is not eligible to win the prize or cannot be contacted/ is not available within seven (7) days of being notified of their win, the Promoters reserve the right to offer the prize to an alternate winner.
Prizes: There is one prize offered in the Campaign.The prize will be a £20 Rover gift voucher. Prizes will be sent to the winner by email within 30 days of being notified of their win. Prizes returned as undeliverable may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner at the Promoters’ sole discretion. No substitutions or exchanges (including for cash) of any prizes will be permitted, except that Promoters reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any prize. The winner may not transfer the prize to someone else. Insofar as is permitted by applicable law, all prizes are awarded without warranty of any kind, express or implied, (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose). All applicable taxes associated with the receipt or use of any prize and expenses not specified in the prize description are the sole responsibility of the winner.
Confirmation of Prize Award: The Promoters must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, you agree that the Promoters can send the surname and county of prize winners to anyone who emails support-uk@rover.com or writes to the following address: 5 New Street Square, London, EC4A 3TW, Attn: Rover.com (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the end of the Campaign Period. If you object to any or all of your surname and county being made available, please contact Rover at support-uk@rover.com. In such circumstances, the Promoters must still provide the information and winning entry to the applicable advertising standards authority, if any, on request.
General Terms and Conditions: The Campaign and these Official Rules will be governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of England and participants of the Campaign submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
Any provision of these Official Rules deemed unenforceable will be enforced to the extent permissible, and the remainder of these Official Rules will remain in effect.
Promoters shall not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, damaged or misdirected entries. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Official Rules, the Promoters may, at their sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the Campaign.
Promoters reserve the right to amend these Official Rules or to terminate the Campaign where it becomes necessary to do so. If such amends become necessary, Promoters will inform and provide an overview of the relevant amendments to all participants by email. Promoters may share information collected in connection with this Campaign with its affiliates for the purposes of administering the Campaign in accordance with these Official Rules and Rover’s Privacy Statement and in accordance with the below:
RSPCA Privacy Statement. The RSPCA will only use the personal data you give to enter this Campaign to contact you to notify you in the event you are a winner and to send you your prize and to comply with its obligations described in “Confirmation of Prize Award” above, and your first name, your pet’s name and winning photo will be shared with the RSPCA’s social media audiences. Your personal data will be used for no other purpose but will remain in the messages of the social media platform by which it was sent. Information about how we use your personal data is set out at https://www.rspca.org.uk/utilities/privacy.
By entering this Campaign you agree that Rover can use your name, photograph, likeness, details of the country and/or city where you live, any comments made by or attributed to you for the sole purpose of promoting and marketing the Campaign, including but not limited to, any audio/visual recording or broadcast for such promotional purposes, in any media, throughout the world.
By entering the Campaign, entrants (i) confirm that they have complied with these Official Rules and are eligible to enter the Campaign, and (ii) agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Promoters, which are final and binding in all respects.
