Riverdale Lodges teams up with ROVER to extend the services to our guests with dog-sitting. PLEASE NOTE: this service is ONLY available to our guests and can only be CONFIRMED after I have met your dog and we talked this through! In most cases, we would advise against leaving a dog alone in your lodge but we'd rather see how we can help than forbidding you to go out without the dog. But if we offer to look after your dog, that brings a lot of red tape regarding licensing, liability and insurance issues, Problems that are all solved if the dog-sitting is booked and paid through Rover.com, an intermediary covering all this 'paperwork' for a percentage of the fee. We'll charge the minimum fee, only to get the coverage needed, and there is a promo code if you are new to Rover, so it will not cost you at all. DON'T LEAVE A DOG ALONE in the lodge without notifying us! We can keep an eye (and ear) if you are sure your dog is alright alone (you MUST notify us). Or you could drop your dog with me in my office (dog bed is always ready!). Or I can pick up the laptop and continue my work in your lodge, so the dog has company in their "own" lodge, where they probably are more settled already. That leaves the question whether you'd trust me to care for your dearest friend. I don't think that a cum laude certificate in canine behaviour from the Uni of Edinburgh (an online course that I did in 2017 to test my knowledge) makes me a better dog person, but 50 years of experience in owning, training, breeding, veterinary care and helping other people with their dogs, made me an allround dog person. Still, the love for dogs is more important than experience and qualifications, and dogs usually feel this. Most dogs connect easily with me, but I will reserve the right to ONLY accept the assignment if I feel that the dog and I will get along well and if I can fit it in with my duties for that day.
