Named after the founder's beloved former Cairn Terrier, Col. Potter, this rescue network has turned a tragic situation into an opportunity to provide a better life for many at-risks dogs. One day, in a moment of brief confusion while the family was outside, Col. Potter ran into the road and was fatally hit by a car. He died on the way to the veterinarian's office. Col. Potter was well-known to other Cairn Terrier fans on an AOL group and his tragic death resulted in an outpouring of support. Located in Menifee, CA, Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network is dedicated to helping special needs and elderly Cairns live comfortable and happy lives while preserving the memory of the foundation's namesake.
