Over the years, our family dogs have ranged from small Terriers to French Bulldogs to an English Mastiff, in addition to barn cats we have taken in, horses, and a bunny - Madison has cared for them all and is extremely comfortable no matter the breed or species. She has several years of veterinary experience and is set to go to vet school this August to specialize in companion animal medicine, making her not only comfortable in caregiving but also very knowledgeable. She has a true passion for animals and has the knowledge and skillset to support any special needs an animal may have. Whether it is a new puppy going through potty training and teething or a senior dog that requires medication and additional care, she will ensure your pet is taken care of the entire time she is with them. She also has a great understanding of pet behaviors and is comfortable with handling dogs with reactivity issues or that may need some extra attention or consideration when going on walks or playing. She has personally taken care of my two dogs (a Golden Retriever and Standard Poodle), who have both had their share of health and behavior issues. Should there be an emergency, she is calm and quick to act, knowing exactly how to take control of the situation. I have seen this firsthand when my own dog was having seizures - she helped stabilize her and then went with me to the emergency vet, and she has helped me every step of the way since. Beyond her experience, she genuinely enjoys being around animals and will treat every pet she cares for as her own. She also understands how difficult and stressful it can be to leave your pets, and will provide frequent updates to ensure you know how your pet is doing. She is very responsible and respectful of other's time and space, and can be trusted when caring for your pet in your own home.
