“Happy Dog Pet Care (Amy Mawyer) kept our 13 year old mixed breed terrier for 2 days/nights while we were out of town. We made an appointment beforehand to check out the home and also so our dog would already know the place when we dropped her off. HDPC was conveniently located for us near the West End of Richmond and right off of 295 at 95. Amy has one small dog and one or two cats of her own. My dog got along with them fine. There were 2 other larger dogs there the same weekend which was not a problem as our dog gets along with other dogs and is older so she pretty much just sleeps a lot these days. Amy had actually been contacted about keeping another dog the same weekend as my dog but the breed had aggressive tendencies so she did not take the dog for the weekend. She notified me of this beforehand and kept me posted on things. I received an e-mail each day I was gone telling me how my dog was doing. Amy makes homemade dog treats for the dogs and my dog even got doggy ice cream one day! The home was clean and there was water set out for the dogs both inside and out. There is a large fenced in backyard which my dog enjoyed. We will definitely be using HDPC and DogVacay again!!”

“During July 4th, we planned on going out of town for the weekend. We were impressed with Julie's rover profile and decided to contact her. We were able to meet up with her twice, once so that she could see our dog, and the second time so that Mozzie could check out her place. This was the first time since adopting him over a year ago that were had ever boarded him somewhere, so we were understandably nervous about it, but Julie proved to be a great sitter. She sent us status updates and pictures while we were away, so that we could know what Mozzie was up to. When we came to pick him up, she also helped us with tips and ideas on how to help Mozzie socialize with other dogs. We could definitely tell that Mozzie was in good hands. Definitely recommended!”
