15. Kelly H.
About: From puppies to elderly dogs, I have taken care of not my own pooch, but the dogs of others as well. I grew up with different pets and as an adult, I had a dog who was with me from her infancy until she passed away at almost 15-years-old. A the end of her life she needed injections and medication regularly, so I have experience administering those. Before passing, she also had dementia and increasing blindness and deafness, so I am sensitive to the needs of a dog with failing health. My current dog, a Yorkiepoo, is a rescue that rescued me after my previous furbaby passed away. As the mother of two now-grown sons who had a variety of pets growing up, I have also have had experience with fish, a hamster, a guinea pig, and other small animals - including a lizard! In addition, I have experience caring for other people's dogs in my home and in theirs, and taking care of cats in the homes of the owners. Finally, I previously worked in other people's homes for my day job and therefore gained valuable experience through their pets as well. Frequently, pet owners are surprised at how quickly their people shy pet babies take to me and seek my attention and affection. My work schedule is flexible as I am now my own boss working from home, so I am able to be there for your fur baby when he or she needs a little love and attention. I value you as the mommy/daddy of your precious pet and therefore will follow your instructions and routines to the tee and make sure your pet has the best possible comfort, love, and care while you are away. If your pet needs walked, played with, given practice in basic obedience, kept on a daily routine, or just loved, give me a call. I will be there for you and your sweet baby! I work from home during the day but have extremely flexible hours as I have my own online business. I do have appointments at times, but can easily accommodate your needs with enough advance planning! A typical daily schedule for dog stays is as follows: - 6:30-7 am get up and go outside - Breakfast around 7 am - Go outside again after breakfast - Quiet time in the morning with plenty of snuggles -9:30 Go outside again (sooner if needed) -10 am Short Playtime - Outdoors or in depending on weather -Quiet time until lunch - may be petted or snuggled as needed - go outside as needed - chew toys as needed 12 pm - Dogs go outside for a potty break then my lunch - Dogs may receive “snack” such as a homemade pupsicle made from unsalted chicken or beef broth, a pup cookie, a puzzle, a lick mat, or a rawhide - options based on needs of dog 12:30/1:00 pm - Activity time such as indoor games, outdoor play, agility course, pup pool, obedience training - depends on needs of dog Afternoon Quiet Time with 2:30 pm potty and exercise break - other potty breaks as needed 4:30 pm - Potty break and then Doggie Dinner Evenings: Take a walk after Dinner then time for hanging together 10 pm - Last potty break and bedtime Whether I care for your family member in your home or mind, your sweet baby will also be treated as a part of my family. I have a large fenced-in yard and a good-sized home. I have a variety of dog beds, toys, leashes, food and water bowls, and even extra kennels if your dog needs one. Dogs are welcome on our couches. And I provide all pet visitors chews and treats along with my dog - as pet parents permit. If my schedule makes it difficult to be available at any time, my husband, who also loves animals and has plenty of experience with animals, has a flexible work schedule and will be available. We live in a smoke-free environment and have no young children who could be a danger to smaller pets. I believe strongly that animals need enrichment and seek ways to engage the animals under my care in both mentally and physically stimulating activities. We live near Lake Zorinsky, a great place to walk dogs! In fact, we love to walk at the many parks, including the state parks, in the area and bring any dogs in our home with us. I am also available to care for your family member in your home if it is within a reasonable drive from my home. I can accommodate visits further from my home with additional compensation. I look forward to speaking with you and learning how I can serve you and your best friend!
