About: As a passionate animal advocate, I've had the privilege of serving as the Foster Care Coordinator at the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society for 1 year, while also volunteering with shelters throughout my adult life. Additionally, I'm a Certified Veterinarian Assistant, and my life's journey has been enriched by sharing it with diverse animals, from beloved domestic pets like dogs and cats, to hospice and senior animals. About: I have been surrounded by dogs my entire life and have been pet sitting for over 2 years! As a child, I helped feed, bathe, clean up after and play with puppies my entire childhood. My love for dogs and animals grew with me and I began volunteering at animal shelters at 14 and working at dog care facilities at 16. I have been working in the pet care industry for 6 years and have been trained on dog behavior, handling and nutrition. I worked for a year as a veterinary assistant before moving to VA, and am looking forward to attending veterinary school this fall. I am experienced with dogs of all ages and understand the importance of training regimes for younger pups. I am also very familiar with senior care, including physical assistance and medication administration. I have also done personal pet sitting for as many as 6 dogs in one household and have references if needed! I value honesty, communication and transparency with pet parents. Please reach out if you would like to learn more! Currently, my day-to-day schedule is constantly changing between pet sitting and classes on certain weekdays. I have been extremely successful in working around others’ schedules with my own, message me to check if I’m able to work with your timeframe! I am experienced and knowledgeable on dog handling and focus on dog safety and comfort. All dogs being walked outside of their home must have a harness or gentle leader, I will not walk dogs with just a collar unless they are unable to wear a harness or gentle leader due to age or health and understand that this is a possibility for many dogs. I make sure a dog feels comfortable and safe with me both in their home and before going out for a walk to guarantee the best safety for both of us. I will not take a dog off-leash outside of their home unless we are in a fully fenced in area the dog cannot escape from. All dogs being walked by me must be familiar with being leash-walked and cannot be leash aggressive. Currently open every day, I just require a 2-3 day heads up! Hours of service include 7am-8pm weekly. House sitting visits include 24 hour care. I do not let dogs off-leash in non-fenced in areas or in spaces with dogs unfamiliar to yours. I require all dogs and cats to be updated on their rabies vaccines. I will not take an unaltered dog outside of his or her home, this is for the safety and wellbeing of your dog. If your dog struggles with behavioral issues and has a history of aggression, please include this in your message so I can help you decide the best options for your pet when it comes to meeting a new pet sitter. If your dog struggles with severe anxiety (this is very common!) please include some of the best anxiety-reducing practices for your dog (ex. favorite blanket, hiding spots, calming treats / jackets) in their care instructions so that they can have the best time possible without their favorite human.

About: I’ve been an avid animal lover from a very young age and have worked with many different types and life stages. My most extensive experience is with horses, but I have also managed flocks of chickens, rehabilitated sick cats, trained dogs, have been responsible for the care of sheep. I was that girl in high school that everyone brought their sick pets to. Nowadays I’m the one people ask for advice concerning everything from behavioral to health problems. As my husband and I are starting our personal farm I am opening up my pet sitting to a more people. I’m currently managing my personal farm and have a seasonal part time job that takes me away Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons. Other than that, I am typically at home. I have a 18 acre farm for dogs with a good recall to play on. These dogs can spend most of their day joining me and my own pets in caring for the farm. For dogs without a good recall, I do have a smaller horse paddock that I can let them play in. The fence will hold most dogs of every shape and size. Interaction between residents of the paddock and your pets will only be allowed at my discretion. The residents are dog-friendly and will be moved to another area for your pup’s playtime. I also have access to 25 acre of woods with trails to take dogs on more extensive walks. My personal farm consists of chickens, quail, sheep, a pony, a cow, two large dogs and pigs. I personally feel that a happy pet is one that has a job. In coming to my farm your pets will be treated like my pets. I am not prone to spoiling but I do like to reward jobs well done. There are a few rules but they are easy to learn. Most visiting pets are pros within 15 minutes. I have several toys and puzzles to entertain pups that are more indoor oriented.

About: I've loved animals since I was a kid and have cared for many throughout my life! I was tasked with raising my family dog since she was a puppy when I was in high school, and I helped my college roommate with her puppy! I have walked/boarded many dogs and cats since moving to Virginia! Being in the military, my coworkers travel a lot so I have become the workplace's go-to "pet auntie." I genuinely love to spoil pets and providing them with a safe and homey environment while their loved ones are out! I have a fairly flexible work schedule so I can come back to my home or to your home to take care of your pet! Early morning, lunch, and evenings are especially free, so I can work around that depending on your needs. I do not own pets, so they will be here as a single child in the case they are boarded! Crates, food, litter boxes, etc will need to be provided as I don't own those things. I have access to many parks around my neighborhood, so walkability is not an issue!

About: Your four legged family member is just as important to me as they are to you! You can expect personalized attention given to your pet, and I will treat them as if they are one of my own! My own pets are obedient but also spoiled, they get the perfect level of training and loving every day! I have had a variety of dogs, from squirrel chasers, to loungers, from 30 pounds to 110 pounds! I can handle anything and everything they have to offer! I believe that pets are therapeutic to be with, and in order for them to be that way they need their own source of therapy- socializing and walks! Let your pet continue to grow through different experiences with me today! Pet care is my priority! I can dedicate 100% of my time to your furry family member to ensure their needs are met- no matter what! Plenty of outdoor time is a given for any type of service. At my home, the fully fenced backyard will be the ultimate playground. And of course some walking around the quiet neighborhood for some mental stimulation!

About: I have had pets all my life! We have had cats and dogs growing up. As an adult, we have even had chickens! I love playing with all sorts of fur babies! Not to mention extra snuggles! I have been house-sitting and watching friends' dogs while they go on vacation and have loved every second of it! The job I have right now allows me a lot of free time and I work on my own schedule. My life revolves around taking care of animals while running the rescue so I am always home to take care of all of their needs. Each dog and cat is different, so it's on a case-by-case basis, I always like to observe their behavior and take care of them based on what they seem comfortable with.

About: I’ve had dogs on and off my entire life. For the last 12 years our family has rescued/adopted 11 dogs. I have kept family and friends' dogs while they vacation as well as done drop ins at their home for walks, feeding and cuddling. I have also taken care of goats and chickens. I will treat your pets how I would want someone to treat mine. I am comfortable around all size and breeds of dogs and cats as well as goats and chickens. I am self employed and have a very flexible schedule. I am available almost any time, including nights and weekends. Most schedules can be accommodated. I have 5 acres which about 1/2 acre is fenced in with 6-foot fencing. I can snuggle your dog on the couch or crate them if they feel more comfortable like that. I have my own personal dogs but keep them separate from other people's pets. If you leave directions of what your pets routine in your home is like I can provide for them in that manner.

About: I have 8 years of experience working with and caring for cats and dogs! I have no problem taking care of pets of any size or temperament! I even have some experience caring for small animals like rabbits and ferrets! I love all animals and I have been around them my whole life. I also have knowledge in medical care for dogs like giving medications and how to handle emergency situations, as well as minor things like nail trims and even bathing! I will treat your fur baby as if they were my own! My availability will always be updated on my profile! - my day to day always involves one to two long walks a day with my dog. I have tons of land for your fur baby to runaround! I also have a dog of my own who is super friendly and I’m sure she wouldn’t mind having someone to play with from time to time!

About: I am a 25 year old student studying marine ecology. I consider myself more of a puppy-person than a people-person. I have two dogs of my own, both of which are sort of seniors. I am a very patient person when it comes to animals, and I have been caring for a variety of animals since I was young (they used to call my house The Zoo House) I am a full time student but with plenty of time in the evening to care for pets, and taking breaks from the books to walk or run with your dog, bring it to the park, or play with your dog so that your dog goes home tired and happy would be a perfect way to stretch my legs between study sessions. Although I do not have a yard, I am able to make frequent and lengthy walks.

About: I am an animal lover who has been in the animal care field for about 7 years. I am trained with medicating animals, whether it be oral, topical, or subcutaneously. I have experience with aggressive pets, diabetic/epileptic pets, as well as puppies and senior pets. I can do baths, as well as everything that comes with bath prepping (nails, ear cleaning, a good brushing, etc.) I can also send as many picture and text updates as needed while sitting. Im currently in school for Animal Health and Behavior, in hopes to become a rehabilitator and own my own sanctuary. I spend most of my free time with my dog, a standard schnauzer/poodle mix, whether it be taking him on walks or taking him to the beach. I am really excited to start pet sitting, as I enjoy meeting new people and their pets! I look forward to taking care of your fur-babies! I don’t care for pets in my own home, as my younger dog is selective with other animals. I am more than happy to do whatever is necessary to keep your fur baby comfortable in their home! I’m completely comfortable with doing your own schedule and routine at your home. I keep a clean and tidy home, and will do the same at yours. I understand messes happen, especially with furry friends, but I’m more than happy to clean up any dishes, laundry, basic cleanup etc. I’m currently focusing on petsitting, so unless my calendar says otherwise, I should be available when I’m needed. At this time I’m not doing overnight sitting, but will possibly offer that again in the future. I do not bring client’s pets to my own home, as I have reactive dogs. About: I have been dog sitting and dog walking since I was the age of 12 and I have owned dogs and been around dogs since birth. I absolutely love going on dog walks and playing with dogs in my backyard. I believe that dogs are family and should be treated exactly like you would your little baby or child. I used to charge $5 to walk over to my neighbors house and either stay there with him overnight or just give him 3 long walks during the day while they were at work. I also have owned dogs ranging from Yorkies and dachshund size to german Shepard’s and mastiffs. I have had close contact with shelter dogs and puppies that we now own. I absolutely love dogs and pride myself on the excellent care I give them I currently am in the military but work days and my wife works nights so someone is almost always at home to give them walks meals and plenty of love I have a fenced in yard as well as hiking trails just a mile up from my house I love going to with my two pups. About: I have owned, trained and taken care of a huge variety of breeds, temperaments and sizes. My current dog is a 120lb Shiloh Shepherd. My last was a 7lb Rat Terrier, Chihuahua mix! I'm currently in school online and self employed, so I can modify my schedule to fit your needs! From early mornings, to late in the evening, I have you covered! Pets are part of your family and as such, will be treated with the utmost care, respect and diligence. It is a big leap to trust a stranger with a family member, and I strive to provide the best care for you pet!
