Aloha! I am currently a student at UH Hilo and majoring in Pre-Veterinarian. I currently work as an animal technician at a boarding kennel and at the UHH farm. Both jobs, allow me to work with a variety of different animals. In the past couple years I have volunteered at a few different veterinary clinics and couple animal rescue foundations on Maui and Big Island, and completed an internship with Maui Humane Society. I never viewed my internships and volunteering as work because I woke up every morning happy to being doing something I love. I love to play with dogs, teach them new tricks, and give them plenty of love! I am able to administer different type of medication, if your pet has any medical needs. If you have a dog that loves to play with other dogs, my dog Nellie loves making new friends! During, the months August-May I am a full time student and work part time at my jobs. During the week I have more time to do dog walks, or stop in to check on your animal. For weekends, I will only be available to do check-ins and house-sitting. During the summer time (May-August) I work full time during the week only. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to answer them for you. Zaira is an excellent animal caregiver. We have used Zaira on multiple occasions, both for weekend getaways and long trips to visit family. Not only is Zaira able to care for all the animals we own, which include dogs, fish, horses and cows, she is also able to create an environment that makes the dogs comfortable fairly quickly. Our dogs and horses love to have Zaira around. The best thing about Zaira is she gladly stays in our home, allowing our animals to remain on their regular schedule. Zaira knows how to administer any medications our animals may need (both dogs and horses for us), which is very helpful in a animal caregiver. Whenever we contact her while traveling, she is very quick to respond, and will send pictures if we request. Over the years I have used many different petsitters, but now my pets only want Zaira to watch them. Upon returning home, the house is always clean and the animals are super happy and well fed. Zaira is one of the best animal caregivers available, especially because she can provide care for our farm animals, and we will continue to be repeat customers with her.
