Animals were almost my first love, bested only by the beauty of nature, but I'm pretty sure my first childhood smooch came from a pooch! In my teen years, I was gifted a one year old Pitt-mix named "Juicy". She was quirky, friendly, rambunctious, and FULL of love. She was also neither spayed, neutered, nor trained; A HANDFUL, in a nutshell! I spent every day after school with her, training, playing, and working out together. She was such a joy to come home to. Unfortunately my family did not share my sentiments and, when I left for college, they gave her away. My heart hurt for her so I turned to volunteering and, just my luck, a college friend's family happened to own a horse ranch (OM-frikkin-G). With ten horses, five dogs, three cats, and a few chickens on about 10 acres of land, I was literally in love! I have been volunteering with them for 3 years now, and it just continues to get better and better. My love for animals and landscape is still a core part of me today and, as I am now a tax and bill paying adult, I hope to make a job of it!
