I have been a passionate animal lover my entire life. I have personally owned and cared for numerous dogs and various other animals at home. I cannot picture a life without the companionship of a pet. Working hands on with dogs is extremely rewarding for me. Many have told me that I have a true connection with dogs and have a way to really bond with them, which is why dogs instantly gravitate to me. My experience with dogs goes far back. My family has always owned all kinds of animals, especially dogs. My love for dogs deepened when I was a child, I had a close connection with a Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix named Rocky. I cared for that dog for his entire lifespan of 18 years and he was the reason I grew fond of dogs. I've owned and cared for at least 6 dogs over the course of my lifetime. I currently own 4 dogs and 1 cat; 3 small dogs (2 Chihuahua/Shih Tzu mixes and a Tea cup Poodle) and one large dog (Pitbull/Lab mix), and a rescue cat. Caring for these animals has consisted of routine walks, bathing, keep up with health needs, and of course giving them lots of love and attention. Pets are members of the family and I ensure that pets under my watch get the care they need. I currently work as an independent dog walker; I absolutely love the exercise and joy in the dog’s face during/after a long walk. I also have work experience as a dog handler in an off leash dog daycare and boarding facility where I handled all kinds of dogs in a facility whether that was in large groups or one on one. This consisted of managing play, private playtime, private walks, keeping them engaged in activity, feeding, bathing, giving medication by mouth and giving them lots of love of the course of a day. This has broadened my experience with dealing with all kinds of temperaments and ages; active, high energy, mellow, senior, puppies, friendly, timid, and sometimes aggressive. I have have experience handling dogs with special needs (i.e. Separation Anxiety, disability, senior). In fact, two of my own dogs are seniors.
