My husband and I are both crazy about dogs. For our honeymoon, we volunteered at an animal rescue in Udaipur, India for one month administering TLC to injured dogs and other animals. I once found a pup abandoned in a dumpster in Italy. I wasted no time getting her checked out, issuing her a passport and flying her back to the states. She is now a bilingual citizen of the world who lives here in Portland with my family! We added Giacomo, our chihuahua mix from Emerald City Pet Rescue, about 5 years ago to our family. He is playful and curious but also quite chill. We walk him twice a day; once in the morning and once in the evening. He is well trained: he loves to perform sit, stay, come, shake (and loves the subsequent treats!). In Seattle, where we moved from, Giacomo was used to having his Rover friends over almost ever day! That said, our housing has changed since moving back to Portland and we now live with my folks. Our little boy is welcome to stay behind with his grandparents when we come to watch your pup at your home or he can come along to be a friend, whatever your preference. Your baby would never be left for more than 4 hours alone. Whenever possible, we take Giacomo and Rover pups on our outdoor adventures - we've taken Rover buddies on numerous hikes and trips to the lake. We love to shower fur babies with love: doggies sit on laps, get kisses and sleep in the bed with us! We figure they should get spoiled while their parents are out of town!
