I Love Your Dog Already

Pet care experience

Dogs make me remember that there is good in this world, and the importance of being kind, patient, and accepting others without judgment. Their ability to love us wholly and unconditionally enables humans to do the same for them. I love and respect the bond created between pets and humans, and cultivating that bond is vital to me. I’m that human who’s willing and ready to go the extra mile to show any pet that I’m their friend. I’m adaptable, patient, and deeply understanding. Sadly, I do not currently have a dog of my own...though I dream of the Basset Hound I will one day adopt! Her name will be Boba, and I can already tell you she’ll be awesome. I’ve been working for a professional dog-walking company for 4 years, first as a walker and now as a manager with a great working relationship with our clients and dogs. I’ve learned so much from this job, and fell into it when I decided to start pursuing work that would make me happy instead of consuming my life. Working with dogs has set me on a wonderful path, and I want to do more of it! This company has truly honed my skills with dogs, and I have so much wisdom and love to share with canine guests. Communication is key and essential. When I pet sit, I send a thorough recap of our day including a range of anything cute to any difficulties your pup might have had in the day e.g. made a new enemy or has a new aversion. I know how important communication is--dogs are like our children, and those same standards of care are expected. No matter how long it takes for a dog to warm up to me, I’m invested in providing the best care possible and giving them every reason to trust me. While I form an immediate bond for some dogs, I know that for others it takes time. I've been walking one pup for two years, and it was only when his mom joined us on a walk that he was able to fully be comfortable with me. He is a rescue, and like so many of these dogs, they often have issues with trust. After this dog saw me laughing and walking with his mother, he began taking treats from my hand and even eating dinner in front of me. It was truly one of my proudest moments! In my free time, I'm really a homebody. I enjoy reading, working on home improvement projects, and connecting with friends. I love to bring dogs in my care everywhere I go, as often as I possibly can! Being able to go home to a pup and give her owner total peace of mind while enjoying the dog’s company is invaluable to me. Dogs don’t “give” me happiness, they ARE happiness--that’s why I love them so!

Yaz was one of the best dog sitters we’ve ever had. Attentive, communicative and very observant along with a ton of love and affection for our dog. Yaz was in touch throughout Cash’s stay with detailed updates and pictures. They even had a play date for our guy during his stay! Would not hesitate for a moment to use Yaz again! Thank you so much!

Yaz was a pleasure to deal with and most importantly my pup clearly felt comfortable with Yaz and was well taken care of. Leo and I appreciated his flexibility and warmth! We will definitely be calling him again!

Zeppelin had a fantastic stay with Yaz! She was very well cared for and in great spirits when I arrived home after 5 days. Yaz was communicative and easy to work with through the whole process. I received tons of photos and personalized updates, which made me feel at ease while I was away. Zeppelin and I can't thank him enough. I will definitely book with Yaz in the future!

Information Yaz B. would like to know about your pet

The first step is simply knowing what the dog needs, and then I’ll set forth answering those needs. We’ll talk through details and I’ll spend time helping your dog get comfortable with me: sharing treats, enjoying her presence, and playing and showing affection as much as she’s open to. Whatever details you’d like to provide me with will be immensely helpful. I have a great sense of what information will help us be most successful, but if anything falls through the cracks, I won’t hesitate to ask more questions once the stay begins! I want you to be completely confident from start to finish, so communication is essential.

A typical day

The first step is getting to know the pup! If she has a lot of energy and loves fetching, we would find a lot of space for her to do so, indoors or out. We’ll take shorter walks and one longer walk of at least an hour. I would also, of course, adhere to her feeding schedule and undoubtedly fill the time we spend together with lots of love and pets. My current schedule consists of dog walking in the afternoons, with evening classes a couple of days a week. Other than that, I’m all hers!
