I hope my experience is an outlier, but I was not thrilled with the care my dog received. She has excellent reviews and that was my original reason for selecting her. I booked with Xinyi for an overnight and extra hours at the last minute after other care plans for my pup fell through. I was told to bring Rosie’s food and crate, which wasn’t super unusual, even though I advised she does not generally sleep in the crate. Drop off went fine and nothing seemed super strange except that I noticed I received less pictures (only three total from the whole stay) than I usually do from other rover care providers - but maybe they were very busy. Sunday evening I sent a message around 7 to ask if I could pick up my dog and received no response. I got there around 8 pm to pick up Rosie and sent a message to state I was there. I went to the door I had dropped Rosie at to wait and could hear dogs barking from the upstairs of the house, which had the window open. It sounded like more like the barking my dog does when she is crated and doesn’t want to be than dogs barking at play… I waited outside the house for at least 10 minutes before Xinyi and her husband emerged…not from the house but from the camper/RV in the driveway. They then went in to get Rosie and her crate/food and brought her out pretty quickly and we left. She did seem a bit thin on our arrival home but I know she ate at some point, because there was food scattered in her crate with her towels. The crate feeding itself isn’t super weird, but I was not told that was their policy. Not really sure what happened but I personally will not be choosing to work with Xinyi and her husband to provide care for my dog.
