I have just over 1/2 acre just outside Springfield with a large, fenced backyard to play in. It's a nice quiet neighborhood by Lake Springfield. Plenty of green grass to play fetch in or just relax in the sunshine! About this sitter: Hi, I'm Wren. I'm a social worker here in Springfield. I have taken care of both dogs and cats in others home and my own. My job ensures a yearly federal background check which allows for you to feel more secure allowing me in your home and leaving your pup in mine. I'd love to meet you and your pup prior to sitting for peace of mind:) Any other questions you have I'll be more than happy to answer! I have learned so much about small to giant (their words) dogs through my sitting on this site. It is a perfect fit for me as a dog lover with a full time work from home career. Why I love dog sitting: Each breed of dog and every single one has their own personality, quirks and language and I love figuring them out. As a dog lover this is a perfect way for me to spend time with animals! Meet my pets I have a 3 bedroom home with no children. My dogs, Mojo and Freckles, live with me. One’s a Texas Heeler and ones a Border Collie. Both are inside/outside dog depending on the weather and where they want to be. About my yard I posted a basic picture of my backyard. It is fenced. Some areas are now dig proof and jump proof based on areas my dog has tried. It's around a 1/2 an acre on a gentle slope. Plenty of trees and gardens with areas of grass to play frisbee or fetch in. My experience administering medication As long as they won't bite me it shouldn't be a problem. I have experience with injections for diabetes.

Wren did a wonderful job taking care of our two babies (Doberman and Yorkie) during Christmas while we were away for five days. She sent pictures daily and kept us updated on how they were doing! I have a large fenced in yard with landscaping to place chase around and open areas to play fetch in. The dogs all sleep on couches. When I am home the dogs can utilize the doggy door to play where they are happiest.

I would like to meet a dog before sitting. I need to know if they dig under fences, jump fences, don't like other animals. They need to be current on flea, tick and heart worm meds. Vaccinations including bordetella need to be up to date and I’ll need a copy. Pretty basic stuff to make sure I can keep your pup happy and safe:)
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks I either stay in my neighborhood or go to the trail by Lake Springfield to walk. Both give plenty of exercise and a chance to see animals. Your dog's sleeping arrangement My dogs sleep indoors in my room. Mojo prefers the closet so his bed is in there. Where yours sleeps will be wherever we agree they will be safe and happy. Time I'll spend with your dog: I work from home so your pup will be with me most of the day. When I go see clients I try to not be gone more than 3-4 hours.

Availability
I work from home and am home all weekend so your dog will get lots of time to play and socialize. I typically have more than one set of dogs from different homes and am good at making sure every dog is a good and safe fit. Meet and greets are essential for this!
